Sam pulls out his gun and points it directly into Zemo’s forehead. Meanwhile, Bucky tracks down Zemo who is standing in front of a lake with a beautiful view. Later, at Walker’s court-martial, he is stripped of all his benefits and titles. Bucky tosses the shield at Sam’s feet, where Steve wanted it all along. They leave Walker on the ground, panting. What happens next is a thrilling action sequence that can be broken down into a game of paper, rock, scissors except this time, shield beats wings, shield beats vibranium arm, but wings plus vibranium arm beats shield. They square off with Walker refusing to give up his prized possession. Clean will wipe away the image of what Walker did. They find him in an abandoned warehouse, still holding the shield where no amount of Mr. Walker runs away with Sam (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky (Sebastian Stan) following behind in a makeshift game of capture the shield. Staining the shield with the blood of a group that may have a point. Smashing the symbol universally know for freedom into a group challenging it. It was kind of poetic if you think about it. The last time we saw John Walker, he stained Steve’s shield with the blood of a Flag-Smasher.
